Sony Ericsson finally announces Xperia™ PLAY

Today at Sony Ericsson's MWC 2011 Press event an amazing new handheld gaming/cellular device. Originally captured in pictures in October, the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play is finally 100% official. Pictures and tech specs below

The Sony Xperia Play will run on a Android 2.3 Gingerbread on a 1GHz Snapdragon processor with Qualcomm Adreno 205 graphics on a crisp 4-inch, 854 x 480 LCD display. With over 5 hours of battery life in a single gaming session this device is not willing to let anyone down. Other attributes include a 5-megapixel autofocus camera, LED flash, stereo speakers, Bluetooth and WiFi compatibility.

In addition the Xperia Play, Sony Ericsson also announced two more new Xperia smartphones, the Xperia Neo and Xperia Pro. Quite frankly this Play Station Phone is going to shake up the gaming industry coming with a pre-loaded 'legendary' PS1 game as well as a wide array of popular Android games including Asphalt 6The Sims 3 and Tetris.  Also at launch, the Xperia Play will have 50 titles available, which will increase on a weekly basis, Sony said. That includes "Guitar Hero," "Assassin's Creed," "Battlefield," and "Dead Space."

Honestly I can't wait for this phone. Every day different technologies advances closer and closer. With such a device capable of running GBA emulators, making phone calls, recording videos, and just about everything else, its hard to ignore this great product.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Play is launching March available on the Verizon network.
